THE REAL MEN IN BLACK

In popular culture, men in black (MIB) are United States federal government agents who wear black suits and prevent UFO witnesses from sharing evidence related to their encounters. MIB don't necessarily wear dark suits and work for the government — the term "men in black" can refer to any mysterious figures who appear after UFO sightings.

Some people believe that the mysterious men in black are actually aliens in disguise. The central figure in a UFO legend, Albert Bender was allegedly silenced by menacing men in black because he had discovered the answer to the UFO mystery.

While some contactees offer a rosy picture of UFO phenomena, other saucer enthusiasts believe sinister forces oppose the Space Brothers' benevolent mission. Some of these are extraterrestrial and others terrestrial, and they work together to thwart the emergence of the truth.

Among the early victims of this evil "Silence Group" was Albert K. Bender of Bridgeport, Connecticut. In 1952 Bender formed the International Flying Saucer Bureau (IFSB), which met with immediate success, but he shut it down the next year under mysterious circumstances.

In due course Bender confided that three men in black had imparted to him the terrifying answer to the UFO mystery and turned his life into a nightmare. He would say no more. Three years later an IFSB associate, Gray Barker, wrote a book about the episode; the title perfectly captured the paranoia abroad in UFO-land: "They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers."

Through the "Bender mystery" the legend of the men in black came into the world — even though, as Barker observed, a man in black had played a villainous role in the Maury Island Incident (read more about the Maury Island Incident). According to Barker, the MIB were ranging as far afield as Australia and New Zealand, scaring still more UFO buffs into silence.

By the late 1980s MIB tales had become sufficiently ubiquitous that "The Journal of American Folklore" took note of them in a long article. Just who the MIB were remained unclear. To saucerians enamored with conspiracy theories, they were enforcers for the Silence Group, associated with international banking interests that sought to stifle the technological advances and moral reforms the Space Brothers wanted to bestow on Earthlings.

To others, they were alien beings — perhaps, some speculated, Richard Sharpe Shaver's deros. In 1962 Bender came down on the side of the alien school. Breaking his nine-year silence in "Flying Saucers and the Three Men," which he insisted was not a science-fiction novel, Bender revealed that the men in black who drove him out of ufology were monsters from the planet Kazik.

Even Barker, the book's publisher and a relentless Bender promoter, remarked privately and out of customers' hearing, that maybe it had all been a "dream."After nine years Albert Bender broke his silence and revealed the "truth" in Flying Saucers and the Three Men. According to Bender, the men in black were monsters from the distant plant Kazik.

Fear of the MIB was generated in part by worries about the possibly hostile motives of UFOs. A popular early book, "Flying Saucers on the Attack" by Harold T. Wilkins (1954), fretted that a "Cosmic General Staff could even now be plotting a real-life war of the worlds. But next to demonologist-ufologist John A. Keel, author of "UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse" (1970) and other writings, Wilkins sounded like an optimist.

In Keel's rendering UFO intelligences are not simply extraterrestrials but "ultraterrestrials"-entities from unimaginable other dimensions of reality. Worse, they definitely do not like us at all.

Human beings, Keel thunders, are "like ants, trying to view reality with very limited perceptive equipment. . . . We are biochemical robots helplessly controlled by forces that can scramble our brains, destroy our memories and use us in any way they see fit. They have been doing it to us forever."

ADMIRAL RICHARD BYRD AND THE HOLLOW EARTH

In August 1946, a remarkable and esteemed figure in American history embarked on an extraordinary expedition to the icy depths of Antarctica. Admiral Richard Byrd, a distinguished US naval officer and explorer, had already made a name for himself as one of the first pilots to soar over both the North and South Poles. His journey to the frozen southern continent, named Operation High Jump, was not only remarkable for its sheer scale but also for the mysterious and perplexing events that allegedly transpired during the mission. With 13 ships, 23 aircraft, and over 4,700 military personnel, this was the largest expedition ever to venture into Antarctica, and it carried a sense of importance that resonated far beyond its immediate goals.

Operation High Jump was launched shortly after the conclusion of World War II. Admiral Byrd was tasked with leading this significant expedition for an extended period of four months, spanning the months of December, January, February, and March. The mission was not without its specific military objectives, as there was a list of goals that they were meant to achieve. However, something peculiar occurred by the end of February, which cast a veil of secrecy over the expedition.

One of the official objectives of the mission was to investigate potential sites for establishing military bases in Antarctica. This might seem like a reasonable and practical goal given the strategic importance of the region during the war. However, as Admiral Byrd's exploration unfolded, he purportedly stumbled upon something entirely unexpected. This story, it is said, originates from his diaries, not the published account of the trip. What makes it all the more intriguing is the notion that it was suppressed by government authorities who found its content deeply unsettling.

In his diary, which was reportedly discovered by his son after his death, Admiral Byrd recorded an extraordinary tale. He described hearing about an entrance to the center of the Earth through the South Pole, a concept that has long captured the human imagination. Driven by curiosity and a sense of adventure, he led planes under the South Pole to explore this mysterious phenomenon. As he flew over the pole, he was met with an astonishing sight - a temperate and lush environment, a stark contrast to the harsh, frozen landscapes that typified Antarctica.

This, however, was merely the beginning of the mesmerizing narrative. According to Byrd's diary, he continued his journey and stumbled upon a shimmering rainbow city, constructed entirely of crystal. This city was unlike anything he had ever witnessed. To add to the enigma, his airplane suddenly came under the control of unknown forces, and he observed flying disk-shaped objects surrounding him. These objects guided him to the ground, leading him to an expansive, cavernous area, where he had an encounter with a being he referred to as "the master."

In this diary, Admiral Byrd detailed an astonishing conversation with "the master." This being conveyed deep concern about humanity's use of nuclear weapons, particularly the recent and devastating bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The master expressed a sincere apprehension about the state of affairs on the Earth's surface. They fervently hoped that humanity would put an end to its destructive tendencies.

What makes this account even more intriguing is its temporal context. The modern UFO era began shortly after World War II, coinciding with the detonation of the first atomic bombs. Additionally, there has been a notable correlation between UFO sightings and the proximity of nuclear missile silos. Reports from military officers at these silos suggest that extraterrestrial beings have disarmed nuclear weapons, further accentuating their concern regarding humanity's actions.

If we accept the authenticity of Admiral Byrd's secret diary, it unveils a compelling narrative that points to the existence of highly advanced beings residing within the Earth's depths. These beings appear to closely monitor events transpiring on the surface. In fact, after this extraordinary encounter, Admiral Byrd was eager to share his story, only to be met with strict orders to remain silent. He was ushered into a government compound, where he was sternly instructed never to disclose the events he had experienced. Everything related to his Antarctic expedition and subsequent discoveries was classified, leaving Admiral Byrd's enigmatic journey shrouded in secrecy.

This enigmatic story beckons us to explore a profound connection between ancient traditions and beliefs in mysterious beings dwelling inside the Earth and the modern-day UFO phenomenon. Ancient astronaut theorists believe that this narrative not only substantiates the existence of inner Earth beings but also suggests that they are actively engaged in monitoring surface events. As we continue to advance technologically and explore the mysteries of our planet, it raises the intriguing possibility that we may one day come face to face with these enigmatic beings from the inner Earth. This tantalizing prospect leaves us with more questions than answers, as we ponder the secrets hidden beneath the Earth's surface and the mysteries of the cosmos that may be intertwined with our own existence...
